As a qualified professional holding an MSc in Organisational Psychology and PRINCE2 practitioner certification, I bring a wealth of experience spanning various industries.  My expertise lies in streamlining processes and achieving results for teams and leaders, whether in start-up environments or established businesses/organisations.  Whether you prefer to set a structured plan or take some time to reflect on your business goals, I will adjust to your unique working style. My talent lies in being able to provide the best support tailored to your business needs, without forcing you to adapt to a rigid methodology.

  • What is the fundamental structure any business requires?

All teams vary but there are common essentials required to be successful.  Clear communication in all directions, horizontally and vertically, ensures the team are clear on their roles, what you need and how this aligns with your business strategy. Set clear expectations for your team, hold them accountable and ensure you are providing support to help them succeed.

Consistency and equity is also important, everyone has an off day but your team will know if your structures and processes favour some over others.

  • How do you build trust with your clients and their teams?

Relationship building and listening are the first skills I deploy. By understanding the your objectives and your business's work culture I am able to understand how my work and role with fit in and, if necessary, what changes we need to make to meet your objectives.

When we have clarified our objectives and my role in meeting them I use the 'loving boot' technique.  With our clear expectations outlined  I ensure progress and peak performance with high support but also high challenge.  Holding myself accountable and being open encourages others to do the same.

  • What are some quick ways Founders can empower their teams?

Engage with your team and give them your ear.  Making them feel heard is immensely impactful; follow through on their input.  If you don't see eye to eye, it's okay, but if possible and appropriate offer explanations so they grasp your perspective.  Set crystal-clear expectations and empower your team to meet them, while holding them accountable for their actions without reporting to reprimands.

AVOID MICROMANAGING.  If you find yourself needing to do this think about what you need as a lead to have assurance that your team are doing what you need them to be.
